To keep every guest safe on track, all drivers and passengers must wear suitable clothing and equipment that allows helmets, seatbelts and Go Kart controls to be used safely.

What can I Wear?

The following clothing is suitable for Go Karting:

  • T-shirts, jumpers and jackets
  • Jeans, pants, leggings and tracksuit pants
  • Shorts (recommended to be mid-thigh length or longer)
  • Enclosed flat footwear
  • Religious headwear that can safely fit beneath a helmet or be safely contained within a coverall
  • Long hair that is secured in accordance with our hair safety requirements

If weather conditions require it, we can provide water-resistant race suits and coveralls for guest comfort.

What Can’t I Wear?

For safety reasons, the following items are not permitted on track:

  • Open-toe shoes, sandals, thongs or high heels
  • Loose scarves or clothing that may become entangled
  • Loose jewellery
  • Clothing that prevents a seatbelt from fitting correctly
  • Clothing or headwear that prevents a helmet from fitting safely
  • Any loose item that may fall from a pocket while driving

All loose items must be removed before entering the track, including:

  • Mobile phones
  • Wallets
  • Keys
  • AirPods and headphones
  • Cameras and selfie sticks
  • Loose accessories

Footwear Requirements

Enclosed footwear is mandatory for all Go Karting activities.

Suitable footwear includes:

  • Sneakers
  • Running shoes
  • Flat casual shoes

The following footwear is not permitted:

  • Thongs
  • Slides
  • Sandals
  • High heels
  • Bare feet
  • Crocs

Guests without suitable footwear may be unable to participate.

Long Hair Requirements

Long hair must be secured before driving. Hair that extends beyond shoulder length may need to be tied up, tucked into clothing, or safely contained within a coverall to prevent it from becoming caught during operation. Hair length safety requirements form part of our track safety procedures.

Examples of suitable options include:

  • Ponytails tucked inside clothing or a coverall
  • Braids secured and contained
  • Hair tied up and positioned to allow correct helmet fitment

Our team may require adjustments before allowing participation.

Religious Headwear

Le Mans Entertainment welcomes guests from all faiths and backgrounds. We are committed to balancing inclusivity with the safety requirements of motorsport.

All Go Karting participants must wear an approved helmet. If headwear prevents a helmet from fitting correctly or creates a safety risk, alternative solutions may be required.

Headscarves, Hijabs, Niqabs and Similar Garments

Many headscarves can be worn while Go Karting provided they:

  • Fit safely beneath the helmet; or
  • Are fully contained within a coverall or balaclava

Coveralls are often the safest solution for longer garments as they prevent loose fabric from becoming exposed during the activity.

Sikh Headwear

Some forms of Sikh headwear can be safely accommodated, while others may not be compatible with helmet requirements.

For example:

  • Dumalas may be able to be adjusted to fit safely beneath a helmet.
  • Patkas may be worn if positioned outside the helmet and do not interfere with fitment.
  • Dastars generally cannot be worn beneath a helmet due to their size and construction.

Jewish Headwear

Kippahs, Yarmulkes and many Sheitels can generally be worn beneath a helmet where safe fitment is maintained. Tichels and similar headscarves may need to be contained within a coverall.

Helmets

Helmets are mandatory for all Go Karting activities.

To participate, guests must be able to:

  • Wear a helmet correctly
  • Secure the helmet safely
  • Maintain clear vision while wearing the helmet

If a helmet cannot be fitted safely, participation may not be possible. Safety requirements apply equally to all guests and cannot be waived.

Final Safety Check

Before entering the track, our team will complete a final safety assessment which includes checking:

  • Helmet fitment
  • Hair containment
  • Clothing suitability
  • Footwear
  • Loose items
  • Seatbelt fitment

If adjustments are required, our team will assist where possible.
