FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How safe are the Rookie Karts?
Rookie Karts are fully electric, speed-controlled, and designed specifically for junior drivers. They operate on a dedicated track, with trained marshals positioned trackside at all times to monitor driving behaviour and step in if needed.
Is the track separated from adult karts?
Yes. Rookie Karts run on their own junior circuit and are never mixed with adult Sprint or Super Karts. This creates a safer, less intimidating environment for younger drivers.
They are run on the same track as our Rookie Twin Karts which gives adults the opportunity to drive kids under the age of 12 in a Go Kart, whilst siblings 8-12 years old are driving their own Go Karts.
Do kids receive a safety briefing before driving?
Absolutely. Every session begins with a clear, age-appropriate safety briefing covering controls, track rules, and safe driving behaviour.
What safety gear is provided?
Helmets and balaclavas are provided and must be worn at all times. All karts are fitted with protective bumpers and safety features designed for junior drivers.
What ages can drive the Rookie Karts?
Rookie Karts are designed for children aged 8–12 years.
Is there a minimum height requirement?
Yes. Drivers must be at least 120cm tall to ensure they can safely reach the pedals and maintain full control of the kart.
What if my child is nervous or has never driven before?
That’s completely normal. Rookie Karts are often a child’s first on-track experience. The electric karts are smooth, easy to control, and staff closely supervise every session to help nervous drivers build confidence.
How fast do the Rookie Karts go?
Speeds are carefully set for junior drivers, focusing on control and confidence rather than outright speed. This keeps the experience exciting without being overwhelming.
Are Rookie Karts petrol or electric?
They are fully electric, which means smooth acceleration, quieter operation, and easier control for younger drivers.
What is the Racer Industries Circuit like?
The Racer Industries Circuit is a wide, twisty 200m junior circuit featuring a banked corner that adds excitement while remaining beginner-friendly.
Is the track outdoors? What happens if it rains?
The track is outdoor and all-weather, with floodlights for evening sessions. Sessions may be delayed or paused in extreme weather for safety, at staff discretion.
Can parents watch the session?
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch from designated viewing areas around the Racer Industries Circuit.
How long does a Rookie Kart session run?
Each race is up to 20 laps. Drivers can purchase multiple races online at the time of booking.
Our most popular offering is 2 x races as kids use the first race to get used to the Go Kart and then the second race is when they can improve on their lap times!
What should my child wear?
All guests must wear enclosed-toe footwear. All long hair must be tied up, and no loose clothing is to be worn ie. scarves. Helmets must be worn by all participants; therefore, turbans, hijabs or any headwear that conflicts with the health and safety of the helmet fit, unfortunately, will not be allowed. As Go Karting is an outdoor activity, please dress appropriately for the weather (shorts are permitted).
We recommend comfortable clothing. Helmets, water resistant coveralls (provided in the event of rain), and safety gear are provided.
